Overview:
The Coordinator 4 is responsible for managing a diverse range of services, activities, programs, and operations impacting multiple departments or units. This role involves coordinating events, handling logistics, managing budgets, and ensuring smooth operations. Key responsibilities include organizing and supporting workshops, seminars, and other events, managing communication channels, preparing reports, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The Coordinator also assists in developing processes, maintaining digital content, and supporting research initiatives by preparing proposals, managing grant application processes, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The role requires a high level of organization, effective communication, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve strategic objectives.

The focus for this role is the Restricted Party Screening process as outlined in Yale’s procedures which is a primary mechanism for vetting external partners. This role will assess the effectiveness of the screening workflow and provides recommendations to streamline and standardize the process institutionally.  The Coordinator assists in developing, updating, and documenting standard operating procedures as needed to ensure consistent and efficient implementation.

Required Skills and Abilities

1. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a regulatory or compliance-focused environment. 

2. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to define problems, identify key issues, and recommend practical, compliant solutions. 

3. Excellent written and oral communication skills; collaborative and service-oriented approach; ability to work independently and communicate complex requirements to diverse audiences. 

4. Ability to prioritize work, solve problems, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

5. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and produce accurate work with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Education and Experience

Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience, preferably in restricted party screenings, research compliance, or higher education; demonstrated familiarity with institutional processes, policies, and procedures; and experience in a university setting with a background in research integrity, research security, sponsored projects administration, or faculty affairs.
 

Principal Responsibilities

1. Assumes primary responsibility for a program, service, activity, operation or function in an assigned area. Develops objectives, practice and procedure and identifies resources to ensure accomplishment of operational goals. 2. Coordinates day-to-day operations in order to achieve designated goals. Ensures effective management and leads the development and implementation of best practices. 3. Designs and implements quality control metrics to identify areas of risk. Analyzes, recommends, and implements strategic solutions to minimize risk. 4. Develops a variety of complex report and other written materials. 5. Provides guidance to and collaboration with internal and external partners as necessary. 6. Develops, oversees and monitors budgets. 7. Develops and maintains specialized training. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
