Communications Specialist

Here, you’ll use your consulting skills and experience to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports DoD client.
As a communications specialist on our team, you’ll develop creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and build relationships with team members, stakeholders, and customers to advance goals, facilitate organizational change, and encourage stakeholder acceptance of processes and initiatives. You must be adept at translating technical jargon into clean copy that is easily understood by all and tells a compelling story. As an organizational advisor on oral and written communications, you’ll oversee and author compelling messages for your customers, web site content, articles, email messages and social media content. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your customers to inform key audiences through words, images, and sound. You'll draw upon your versatility as a communications professional to create messages that accurately convey information in a compelling fashion, using basic principles of storytelling as your guide. You'll draw upon your thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation, style, and communications best practices to draft messages that are error-free from the get-go. You will leverage your solid research competency to generate fresh content and coordinate with various Task Order organizations and work activities to verify the accuracy of information. In this dynamic team setting, you will help determine challenges, opportunities, and needs, as well as manage several projects to improve service and support given to the client. You'll use your strategic thinking ability to anticipate your customers’ needs and take initiative.

You Have:
3+ years of experience in the strategic communication or technical writing fields
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to speak, write and edit clearly and effectively
Ability to gather information and synthesize it into customer-ready deliverables
Ability to identify potential problems and develop mitigation strategies
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have:
Knowledge of multiple writing style guides and requirements
Ability to perform reviews and assure the quality of all written deliverables in support of a wide range of customer requirements and ensure the production of clear documents that guide and educate the reader
Possession of strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
