CNC Team Lead
The Opportunity:
The CNC Team Lead is responsible for ensuring schedule, quality, and cost objectives are met through coordination of CNC personnel, as well as the hands-on machining of precision optics using a variety of CNC machinery. As part of the Optical Manufacturing team, this role will play an integral part of the production lifecycle and have exposure to various optical manufacturing assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacture high precision optics on CNC manufacturing equipment in accordance with manufacturing documentation, process documentation and technical requirements, including blocking and unblocking optical materials
- Develop, train, and coach employees to be responsible and accountable for their individual and team performance
- Prioritizing production schedules based on product induction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply while identifying areas of improvement
- Ensure program check and verification methods are established for the work center
- Interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Troubleshoot machine anomalies with the ability to Identify problems and escalate
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 5+ years relevant manufacturing experience
- Proven experience leading, motivating, coaching, and training others
- Strong math aptitude
- Familiarity with hand tools, manual measurement tools, computer-controlled test equipment, windows Explorer, Excel, and Word
- Ability to speak up as appropriate while identifying and escalating issues as required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
Desired:
- Knowledge of Fagor, Fanuc, Siemens, HEIDENHAIN, or similar CNC control systems is a plus
- Previous experience with Mastercam or Vericut is a plus
