Job Summary:

The Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) Program Management Team (PMT) is seeking an accomplished Associate Director to lead strategy and capture activities for U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard propulsion opportunities. Reporting directly to the CCA Campaign Manager within Pratt & Whitney Military Engines, this role will position our family of engines for growth across priority maritime aviation markets while supporting the maturation of technologies aligned with the broader product portfolio.

The CCA U.S. Navy and Coast Guard Capture Manager will support multiple competitive pursuits across naval and maritime aviation markets, working closely with the Customer Integration Team (CIT) and other internal organizations responsible for customer engagement, requirements shaping, and capture. This position will ensure alignment across customer strategies, product offerings, technology investments, and pursuit priorities.

The Capture Manager will collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand emerging mission requirements, support the shaping of propulsion solutions, and position the portfolio for emerging opportunities. This will include leading or supporting matrixed teams through opportunity qualification, strategy development, investment planning, proposal development, contract award, and transition to Program Management.

Success in this position requires a strong ability to navigate and fluently translate U.S. Navy and Coast Guard organizational structures, acquisition processes, and customer priorities; align approaches to both internal and external customer needs; and clearly communicate strategies, decisions, risks, and recommendations to customers and senior leadership.

What You Will Do: 

  • Develop and execute capture strategies for U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps,and U.S. Coast Guard CCA, autonomous aircraft, uncrewed aircraft systems, and adjacent advanced propulsion opportunities.
  • Coordinate closely with the Customer Integration Team and other internal organizations to develop integrated customer engagement and capture strategies.
  • Serve as the primary Military Engines focal point for assigned U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and Coast Guard propulsion pursuits.
  • Position the family of engines against emerging maritime missions, operational requirements, aircraft concepts, and acquisition strategies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across the operational, requirements, acquisition, engineering, sustainment, and industry domains.
  • Lead customer analysis, competitive assessments, win strategy development, price-to-win activities, color-team reviews, and internal capture gates.
  • Translate customer requirements, acquisition priorities, and market intelligence into product priorities, technology roadmaps, and recommended investment plans.
  • Coordinate with engineering, advanced technology, programs, finance, contracts, legal, supply chain, sustainment, and other functions to mature and execute capture strategies.
  • Support the planning and execution of engine integration, technology maturation, and demonstration activities aligned with priority pursuits.
  • Establish pursuit milestones, critical paths, budgets, schedules, decision points, and performance metrics.
  • Identify capture risks and opportunities early enough for corrective actions or investment decisions to be made.
  • Lead or support responses to requests for information, requests for proposals, sources-sought notices, market surveys, and other formal customer solicitations.
  • Develop and present capture plans, strategic recommendations, technology roadmaps, customer engagement plans, and investment requests to senior leadership.
  • Support acquisition, contracting, rapid-prototyping, and transition strategies as applicable.
  • Negotiate and influence customers, partners, and internal stakeholders in support of long-term growth objectives.
  • Travel domestically based on customer engagement and capture requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree in a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience. Experience to include: business development, capture management, program management, product strategy, customer integration, and/or a related discipline, leading development programs, competitive captures, or complex proposal efforts, working with the U.S. Navy, Naval Air Systems Command, U.S. Coast Guard, or other maritime aviation organizations, developing and maintaining relationships with government, military, or aerospace-industry customers, managing cost, schedule, risk, investment plans, and executive-level deliverables, leading within a highly matrixed organization that includes engineering, finance, contracts, legal, supply chain, operations, sustainment, and other functions and ability to communicate complex technical, business, and strategic information to customers, partners, team members, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to travel domestically.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

        

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Operational, sustainment, program, or business experience with military gas-turbine propulsion, uncrewed aircraft, autonomous aviation systems, or Collaborative Combat Aircraft.
  • Experience translating maritime missions and operational requirements into aircraft, propulsion, technology, and acquisition strategies.
  • Experience supporting requirements development, concept development, analyses of alternatives, or other early acquisition activities.
  • Experience with competitive analysis, opportunity qualification, customer analysis, win-strategy development, color teams, capture gates, and price-to-win analyses.
  • Experience developing and presenting strategic plans, annual operating plans, technology roadmaps, market assessments, and investment recommendations.
  • Experience planning or executing technology maturation, engine integration, flight demonstration, qualification, or transition activities.
  • Experience with Department of Defense budgeting, acquisition, contracting, rapid-prototyping, or capability-transition processes.

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
