CAD Designer
The Opportunity:
CACI Federal Inc. has an immediate opening for Mechanical Engineer located on-site in Belgrade, MT. The Mechanical Engineer Designer/Drafter will assist with new product development from concept to production release.
You will work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment, collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and test teams to deliver innovative solutions for advanced hardware systems. This role will focus on 3D CAD modeling and drafting engineering drawings. Interfacing with and using PLM systems will also be required.
Responsibilities:
Work with the design team to model, specify, and draw complex systems, assemblies, and components.
Design and draft harness and interconnect technical data packages and electrical schematics.

Manage CAD data and configuration using PLM software.
Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs that meet ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
Provide feedback to design team on tolerances, fitment, material selection, and assembly.
Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are producible, cost-effective, and high quality.
Participate in prototype builds, assembly, and troubleshooting of mechanical hardware.
Support component- and system-level testing, including environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock, etc.).
Work cross-functionally with engineers from multiple disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into larger assemblies.
Qualifications:
Required:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology
Must be a US Citizen
3+ years of industry experience in modelling, drafting, and engineering specifications.
Experience with SolidWorks (other modeling and drafting tool experience will also be considered).
Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and mechanical drafting standards.
Experience with PDM systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and ability to work both independently and in teams.
Desired:
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance if required
