Avionics Technician V
Responsibilities:
- Lead large-scale avionics installation and maintenance projects.
- Serve as the expert in diagnosing and repairing avionics systems.
- Develop and implement advanced maintenance procedures.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
- Mentor and train other avionics technicians.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of all maintenance activities.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety and work quality.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Specialized expertise in avionics systems and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex, technical, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings.
- Proficiency in avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering and crimping techniques.
- Basic understanding of spectrometer, Oscilloscope, and/or Pitot static equipment.
- Must have own tools in good working order.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Associate’s degree in Avionics, Electronics, or a related field.
- Extensive leadership and project management experience.
- Expertise in advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor, train, guide, and inspect the work of subordinates.
- Familiarity with FCC and FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL).
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
- Hand and finger dexterity to work with small mechanical components and tools.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials.
- Ability to travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice.
- Ability to work in a combination of office and field environments.
- Ability to read detailed technical manuals, schematics, and computer screens.
- Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems accurately.
- Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments, such as industrial sites or construction areas.
- Ability to detect auditory signals from machinery or equipment, which may indicate issues.
- Ability to navigate various work environments, including climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and working at heights.
- Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for frequent travel to customer locations.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, including repairs, installations, and maintenance.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Strong awareness of safety protocols and ability to adhere to safety guidelines in potentially hazardous environments.
- Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $40.14 - $55.19. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
