Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for an Associate Engineer Systems or Engineer Systems based out of Huntsville, Alabama for the IBCS Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS). IBCS Integrated Battle Command System is a revolutionary, network enabled command-and control system developed by Northrop Grumman. The IBCS Integrated Battle Command System delivers a single integrated air picture with unprecedented accuracy and broadens surveillance and protection areas. By implementing IBCS Integrated Battle Command System into their militaries, the US and other nations are transforming their integrated missile defense capabilities in a consistent manner. The qualified candidate shall have the ability to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
The ideal candidate will support the development, integration and verification of system safety requirements throughout the system’s lifecycle. Working under the guidance of senior SW Safety engineers, the role applies Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to identify hazards, analyze risk, and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and program safety requirements The engineer collaborates across multidisciplinary teams to develop safe, reliable, and mission-critical systems.

Basic Qualifications for Associate Engineer Systems (Level 1); 0 Years with Bachelors in Science
- Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Familiarity with SysML concepts
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong analytical and problems solving skills
- Effective and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Agile Environment
- Active Secret Clearance
Basic Qualifications for Engineer Systems (Level 2); 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters
- Responsible for developing and implementing system safety solutions using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) throughout the system lifecycle
- Develop, maintain, and manage system safety requirements
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and specialty engineering teams to integrate safety into system designs
- Participate in system architecture development and trade studies to identify and mitigate safety risks
- Prepare technical documentation, conduct Safety Analysis, and requirements tracing
- Support customer meetings, technical interchange meetings and design reviews
- Track system safety and MBSE work products through sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning
- Active Secret Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,700.00 - $109,100.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
