Overview:

In this role the Lead Engineer will actively participate in global chemical and environmental regulatory compliance related projects to ensure the company’s products, materials, and processes comply with global chemical regulatory requirements. The role involves managing regulatory compliance projects, interpreting complex chemical regulation, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining accurate compliance documentation for customer reporting and risk assessment.

Job Description – Associate Engineer (P1) - Material Compliance

What You Will Do

• Assessment of MOC (Material of Concern) data at Part and Assembly level including material and finish processes.
• Work with customers to address chemical regulatory queries and provide supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with design team in material selection and MOC validation for new designs as per company policy.
• Identification of regulatory risk to products and need for a mitigation plan.
• Identify and validate the alternative materials for compliance to global chemical regulations.

Qualifications You Must Have

• 2 to 4 years of work experience, preferably in a related field.
• Bachelor’ degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder coordination, and documentation skills.
• Working understanding of global chemical regulatory frameworks (EU/UK REACh, US TSCA, Canada CMP, Turkey KKDIK, etc.).
• Ability to correctly interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong self-directed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrates ability to learn and use complex technical processes.
• Basic knowledge of Landing Systems Product Design, Materials selection, and Process development.
• Knowledge on digital compliance tools e.g., CDX, SAP EHSM, Sphera and other tools for chemical regulatory risk mitigation.
• Ability to interpret evolving regulations (e.g., EU REACH,  EPA PFAS, TSCA, Japan CSCL) and coordinate with North American team’s changes to business strategy.
• Working Knowledge on Siemens PLM Teamcenter software application.
• Ability to interpret data from Engineering drawings, technical specifications, SDS, BoMs, chemical compositions, and regulatory documents.
• Experience in basic operations of CAD tools (CATIA V5, UG NX).
• MS Office tools experience.
