The Associate Director, EHS – EH&S Site Lead - Riverside role plays a vital part in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment while aligning regional EH&S efforts with RTX’s global standards and goals. This role is responsible for driving EH&S compliance, continuous improvement, program standardization, and strategic integration at the Riverside, CA facility. It requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and strong leadership to uphold Collins Aerospace’s EH&S excellence. Key focus areas include EH&S functional oversight, incident management review, development of recommended strategies, and effective stakeholder collaboration. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical abilities to assess risk and implement effective solutions, along with a strategic mindset, operational discipline, and a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.
This role is a US-based role and will report to the Director, EH&S Southwest Region Lead.
What You Will Do:
Operational Oversight:
Support and advise operations management team on safety, compliance, and sustainability programs, ensuring alignment with EH&S goals. Ensure projects are appropriately defined in EHS SMART to support achievement of EHS goals.
Monitor and execute strategies for EH&S initiatives to ensure sustained compliance with local regulations, government standards, and RTX/Collins Aerospace requirements.
Ensure regulatory permit applications and agency correspondence are submitted on a timely basis.
Lead and facilitate onsite reviews of EH&S Management System elements.
Participate in and support Central EH&S audit teams, as needed.
Incident Management:
Coordinates and facilitates incident investigations as needed, ensuring lessons learned are implemented.
Participate in serious injuries reviews, as needed.
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute long-term strategies to minimize occupational injuries and ensure compliance with local regulations, government standards, and RTX/Collins Aerospace requirements.
Lead initiatives to standardize and optimize EH&S tools, processes, and systems across the Riverside, CA site.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Build and sustain relationships with site operational stakeholders, integrating EH&S into business processes. Coordinate with site leader, and Central EH&S teams to address concerns and initiatives.
Collaborate with the Asia-Pac and EMEA field service leads and the Central EH&S organization to align global policies with local standards and requirements.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years’ experience
Experience in Environmental or Health or Safety in a manufacturing environment
Leading and influencing in a matrixed environment
Qualifications We Prefer:
Deep knowledge of EH&S principles, regulations, and best practices.
Experience in aerospace or defense
Lean manufacturing experience (Kaizen, Six Sigma etc)
Strong leadership and project management skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities with varied teams across multiple locations.
Ability to adapt global policies to local needs while maintaining compliance.

The salary range for this role is 172,900 USD - 328,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
