This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
This position will be supporting the Product Support organization as an individual contributor on the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) team.
The candidate must have excellent inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills as they work with teams of engineers, logisticians, buyers, etc. in pursuing recommendations for resolution of DMSMS issues. Candidate will help coordinate activities to ensure solutions are in place to minimize or prevent impacts to current contracts. Key aspects of the position include working effectively with Procurement/ Subcontracts, Integrated Product Teams, functional organizations, external customers and Program Management to identify, analyze, address, and resolve DMSMS issues.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Perform full spectrum of DMSMS management tasks on assigned system and sub-systems to ensure obsolescence risk areas are identified and design influence is asserted to reduce and/or remove obsolescence
• Integrate with cross-discipline teams, including supply chain and procurement, business management, engineering, functional organizations, external customers and program management to execute DMSMS Statement of Work
• Develop and maintain obsolescence bills of material by working with suppliers and supplier management teams, processing supplier deliverables, performing health screening on piece-part components, identifying obsolescence issues, and forecasting obsolescence impacts through end-of-life data analysis
• Track obsolescence issues using DMSMS case management tool from identification and validation through implementation. Perform analysis of alternatives to determine recommended resolutions. Support a Business Case Analysis process with Life of Need Buy quantity calculations, creation of technology roadmaps and change board packages
• Collect and provide data to inform DMSMS management technical interchange meetings, working groups, program deliverables and other briefings as required
Basic Qualifications:
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution by December 2026 or is completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by December 2026 and at least 2 years of previous experience working in an Engineering or Technical position, writing and presenting technical documentation experience.
Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance
Be able to maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access will be required to start.
Experience using Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to interpret a Bill of Material or parts list
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
Experience with database management
Experience with JIRA and Confluence
Familiarity with Project Management processes and procedures
Familiarity with data analytics and visualization techniques
Familiarity with DMSMS concepts and processes
Pay Range:
Engineer: $72,100 to $108,100
