This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s multi-disciplined team supporting the B-2 Stealth Bomber, under the Air Dominance Division. In this role, you will help keep the B-2 fleet on the cutting edge of technology by installing capability upgrades while supporting and maintaining the current platform and existing systems. As an engineering intern, you will work directly with a team of mechanical, electrical, industrial and manufacturing engineers, as well as with technicians directly performing work on the aircraft. In addition to this production-like environment, you may also work with U.S. Air Force B-2 pilots, maintainers, and logisticians through other Northrop Grumman efforts supporting the warfighters at Whiteman AFB.
Your specific assignments will vary depending on the priority and execution schedule of several new aircraft modifications, but the general responsibilities will include… Learning to interpret and create aircraft engineering drawings, transitioning, updating or creating new digital models, learning aircraft certification requirements, and training to perform work on the aircraft.
Basic Qualifications
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and graduating after August 2027.
Be majoring in or having majored in one of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Industrial or Systems or related STEM field.
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Be available to work in person at Whiteman AFB, Missouri.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
Have strong verbal and written communication skills and experience working with a team
Have past work experience, especially work applicable to your degree program
Intern Pay Range
Undergraduate degrees (Including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master’s program): $17.50 - $31.75
Masters degrees : $24.75 - $39.25
