Northrop Grumman is seeking Associate Electronics Engineers and Electronics Engineers. This position will be located at our Space sector in Promontory, UT.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Propulsion Engineering team.
Roles and Responsibilities
As an Electronics Engineer, you will:
- Assist in the design of flight instrumentation and instrumentation systems.
- Perform layout and design of harnesses and electrical interfacing elements.
- Assist in the design and analysis of electronic circuits and systems.
- Support the development and implementation of test plans and procedures for electronic components and assemblies.
- Conduct hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of electronic hardware.
- Document design specifications, test results, and engineering changes in a clear and organized manner.
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and systems engineers.
- Learn and apply relevant industry standards, company policies, and best practices.
- Contribute to the integration and verification of electronic systems into larger propulsion and flight hardware platforms.
- Work with senior engineers to evaluate manufacturing and product defects against required performance and identify improvement actions.
- Work with and evaluate supply chain partners and evaluate electronic hardware for suitability in use on propulsion applications.
Basic Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for an Associate Electronics Engineer:
- Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Be majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
- Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
- The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Basic Qualifications for an Electronics Engineer:
- Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution
- Be majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
- Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
- The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
- Internships or co-op experience in aerospace, defense or propulsion.
- Strong interest in electromagnetic environmental interference/compatibility (EMI/EMC) and in space radiation effects on electronics in flight environments.
Salary Range:
Associate Electronics Engineer: $65,800 to $98,800
Electronics Engineer: $79,300 to $118,900

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,800.00 - $98,800.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
