The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico:
The Wireless LAN (WLAN) Engineer is an established and productive professional contributor who performs day-to-day activities required to manage wireless services, including but not limited to implementation, management, and troubleshooting for the enterprise technical environment specifically for wireless services, to include access points, controllers, and management systems. This includes wireless surveys and comprehensive documentation for all deployed frameworks and ongoing evaluations of these networks.
What You Will Do
- Implement, configure, and manage enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN) infrastructure.
- Administer and troubleshoot wireless services, including access points, wireless controllers, and management systems.
- Conduct wireless site surveys to support deployments, expansions, and performance optimization.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for wireless network architecture, configurations, and deployed solutions.
- Monitor, evaluate, and optimize wireless network performance, reliability, and availability.
- Identify and resolve wireless connectivity and performance issues using established troubleshooting methodologies.
- Support the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of enterprise wireless services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure wireless solutions align with business and technical requirements.
- This position will reference written work instructions for guidance with daily job activities. Work instructions are available in English only.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or relevant experience and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
- Experience working with current and upcoming wireless RF standards on Wi-Fi; 802.11; basic RF parameters and signal flows (frequency, power-level, modulation methods, channel widths, signal losses etc.)
- 1+ years of experience with TCP/IP, Wireless, DNS and DHCP protocols and services
- Experience using Wireless Analysis Tools - Ekahau, AirMagnet, MetaGeek Channelyzer Spectrum Analysis tools, Packet Analyzers, Cisco Catalyst Center, Aruba Central
- Wireless Site Survey experience - industry best practices and criteria for standard RF survey designs including Data, Voice, and Location Based Services
Qualifications We Prefer
- Strong analytic, problem-solving, and conceptual skills; and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center, Aruba Central, and Cisco ISE a plus.
- Certifications that are a plus: MCP, CCNA, CWNA, CCNP, CCNP-Wireless, CWNP
- Experience with both Aruba and Cisco solutions in deploying, troubleshooting and maintaining highly available wireless infrastructure solutions in a large-scale, multi-site, international environment including Wireless LAN Controllers & Guest wireless solutions

Location: This position is remote. However, the successful candidate must be currently living in Puerto Rico.
