If selected you will work under the guidance of senior engineers and the Systems Engineering & Architecture IPT (Integrated Product Team). You will assist in designing, integrating, testing, and documenting the program’s IT baseline, while gaining exposure to the full systems‑engineering lifecycle (concept → sustainment) and to tools such as DOORS, MBSE suites, and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Systems Engineering & Architecture

  • Support development and delivery of the IT technical baseline and system design across all lifecycle phases.

  • Assist in delivering the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and executing SE processes and controls.

  • Apply MBSE methodologies using tools such as Cameo or Orbus; maintain requirements traceability in DOORS or RTM.

Infrastructure Design

  • Design scalable, redundant, and highly available IT solutions for on-premises, co-location, and cloud environments.

  • Design, test, and implement secure operating systems, networks, and COTS software products.

  • Support VDI solution development and deployment (Nutanix, VMware Horizon).

Operations & Sustainment

  • Ensure all systems have current backups and documented disaster recovery procedures.

  • Maintain documentation for workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, switches, and telephony equipment.

  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve networking, authentication, and application issues.

Program & Stakeholder Support

  • Interface with project managers, architects, technical specialists, and customer representatives.

  • Support IPT leadership: scheduling, status reporting, and meeting coordination.

  • Participate in program reviews: SRR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR — prepare and present technical materials.

  • Communicate technical content effectively — written and verbal — to internal and customer teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 Years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM discipline OR Masters degree.

  • Candidates must have a current U.S. Government Secret level security clearance (or higher) in order to be considered.

  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top Secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment.

  • 2–5 years in IT Systems Engineering, Systems Architecture, or related field.

  • Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure, virtualization, cloud, or OT/manufacturing IT environments.

  • Working knowledge of NIST, CMMC 2.0, DFARS, and applicable DoD IT standards.

  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix) and VDI platforms (VMware Horizon).

  • Familiarity with on-premises and co-location designs, including redundancy, high availability, and backup/DR.

  • Hands-on exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP (IaaS/PaaS); experience with cost optimization of cloud resources.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, and network design in classified/unclassified environments.

  • MBSE Tools — Familiarity with Cameo, Orbus, or equivalent model-based systems engineering platforms.

  • Requirements Management — Experience with DOORS or requirements traceability matrix (RTM) tools.

  • Test & Verification — Ability to develop, execute, and document test plans with full requirements traceability.
