Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Valiant Technical Services - Staff Engineer - SMT Technical Lead (T05 level). This position is located in Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel program.

What You'll Get To Do:

As the Valiant Technical Services SMT Technical Lead, you will partner with the Program Element and Segment Executives, Global Supply Chain, Mission Assurance, Office of the Chief Engineer, and lead a cross-functional technical team of various systems engineering disciplines managing major supplier efforts focusing on technical excellence and technical rigor.

Primary job responsibilities:

Leading the technical oversite for Valiant Technical Services as the main engineering point of contact for the Program. This includes aligning supplier technical activities with overall program technical baseline and verifying supplier technical deliverables are successfully integrated.

  • Develop Valiant Technical Services Statements of Work (SSOW) through collaboration with key technical and programmatic stakeholders

  • Assists Program and Supplier Management Team Lead (SMTL) in generating technical content for Valiant Technical Services Request for Information (RFIs ) / Request for Proposals (RFPs) / etc.

  • Responsible for Valiant Technical Services proposal technical evaluations and supports program and supplier management team lead (SMTL) in negotiations

  • Review and approve Valiant Technical Services technical subcontractor deliverables (SDRLs) with guidance from applicable cross functional program Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

  • Partner with the SMTL to align Valiant Technical Services technical objectives within program cost and schedule constraints

  • Establish and track technical goals and commitments for Valiant Technical Services to drive maturity and ensure high-quality execution

  • Manage and mitigate technical execution risks by monitoring Valiant Technical Services technical performance against metrics and addressing identified capability gaps

  • Oversee and maintain the SMT technical action item tracker to facilitate communication and accountability with Valiant Technical Services

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need​

  • 12 years of experience with a Bachelors of Science degree,10 years with a Masters, 8 years with a PhD.

  • 15+ years of ICBM experience

  • Refurbishment experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance

  • Understanding of Product Support processes

  • Experience with Sentinel program

  • Experience with ICBM programs, major maintenance

  • Crane experience performing complex lifts

  • Familiarity with OSHA / Hazmat

  • Experience developing new procedures, processes, validation, verification, etc.

  • Proficient in DOORS

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   

This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,000.00 - $208,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
