Role Overview

The Retail Growth Manager for Staples and Office Depot will own the integrated marketing growth agenda across retail, .com, and marketplace environments. This role will partner closely with Sales, Category, Media, Content, Retail Deployment, external vendors, and agency partners to translate business priorities into account-specific plans that drive demand, discoverability, conversion, and sell-through.

This is a highly cross-functional role that requires both commercial thinking and strong execution. The ideal candidate understands how to build growth in retail and digital environments, can manage complex NPI and content workstreams, and is comfortable working across PC, Print, and Supplies businesses.

The role requires someone who is proactive, organized, partner-centric, and able to operate with speed and accountability in a fast-moving retail environment.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the integrated retail marketing plan for Staples and Office Depot across PC, Print, and Supplies.

  • Translate category and business priorities into retailer-specific plans across retail, .com, marketplace, content, media, and promotions.

  • Partner with Sales to identify growth opportunities, improve retail execution, and drive account-specific initiatives that support sell-through.

  • Lead marketing readiness for NPI launches, including content, A+ content, PDP readiness, vendor coordination, timelines, and execution tracking.

  • Work closely with internal content, media, retail deployment, category, and agency teams to ensure plans are aligned, actionable, and delivered on time.

  • Drive .com and marketplace improvements, including product visibility, content quality, conversion opportunities, and retailer experience.

  • Manage multiple complex projects at once while maintaining strong organization, clear communication, and accountability.

  • Identify out-of-the-box solutions to improve demand, discoverability, and conversion in retail and digital environments.

  • Build strong relationships with Sales, retailer partners, internal stakeholders, and third-party vendors.

  • Monitor execution, identify risks or gaps early, and bring forward clear recommendations to solve issues quickly.

  • Support a One HP approach across business units, ensuring Staples and Office Depot plans are connected, consistent, and commercially focused.

Qualifications

  • Experience in retail marketing, account marketing, shopper marketing, eCommerce, .com, marketplace, or related commercial marketing roles.

  • Strong understanding of retail and digital commerce environments, including content, PDPs, A+ content, marketplace execution, and conversion drivers.

  • Experience supporting or leading NPI launches, including cross-functional coordination and launch readiness.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects, timelines, and stakeholders at once.

  • Strong partner-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with Sales, Category, agencies, vendors, and senior stakeholders.

  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Commercial mindset with the ability to connect marketing activity to business outcomes.

  • Ability to operate with urgency, ownership, and accountability in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of PC, Print, and Supplies categories preferred.

  • Experience working with Staples, Office Depot, or similar retail / commercial channel partners preferred.

They understand the realities of Sales and retail partners, know how to get work done across complex organizations, and can identify smart ways to improve performance across retail, .com, and marketplace channels.

They are proactive, structured, commercially curious, and comfortable pushing work forward even when ownership is unclear or timelines are tight. They bring solutions, not just status updates.

  • The role improves both the quality of execution and the commercial impact of the account plans.

The pay range for this role is $83,000 to $127,800 USD annually with additional
opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United
States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience.
