Position Overview:

As a Finning Machine Health Inspector your responsibility if for the handover, inspection & connectivity of machines/engines within their area. Manage own workload & schedule. Contact customers direct to arrange a suitable time for the machine/engine to be worked on. Provide recommendations to improve the health of assets via CAT inspect & share maintenance best practice and provide technology field based triage supporting regional delivery.

Major Job Functions

  • Carrying out routine inspections on machines and engines to ensure operational serviceability. Ensure software is current and updated. Maintain accurate records and completed onsite.
  • Carrying out familiarisation or handover activities to users of machines. Configuring machines and engines for operational activities.
  • Carrying out specific tests on machines to determine operational serviceability. Specifically track & bucket inspections using CAT app & tooling.
  • Diagnosing telemetry faults on asset systems and components. Installing, removing, and replacing product link hardware. Technology triage response for telemetry, software, firmware VIMS & Minestar.
  • Plan & manage schedule/workload working directly with the customer. Carry out a combined total of min 3 activities per day (Inspection, telemetry & handover).

Knowledge

  • Moving plant related loads by manual lifting and using manually operated load handling equipment in the workplace.
  • Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).
  • Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). ISO 9001 ISO 15001.
  • Technology – Telemetry, Asset software, firmware, VIMS & Minestar. CAT Systems e.g SISWEB & CAT Inspect, TMI etc.

Accountability

  • Work safely at all times when servicing and maintaining plant and equipment. Comply with procedures & polices. Maintain 3 star Contamination Control standard.
  • Know how to deal with problems promptly and effectively and report those that cannot be solved.
  • Ensuring 97% of assets are inspected on time & are connected. 700 -1000 Activities per annum.

Education and Experience

  • Identify the minimum levels of education and experience required to competently perform the job.  These requirements are related to the position and may not necessarily reflect what the employee may have
  • NVQ Level 2 in Plant Maintenance & Repairs of equivalate.
  • Caterpillar contamination control.
  • SPA passport to safety.
  • Machine Movement
  • +5 years’ experience in engineering role.
  • Caterpillar online training provided.
