Aircraft Maint Mgr
The Aircraft Branch Manager provides senior-level oversight of aircraft maintenance operations in direct support of the 89th Airlift Wing executive airlift mission
Essential Responsibilities:
- Leads and manages aircraft maintenance and integrated logistic support services on 22 commercial-derivative Special Air Mission (SAM) aircraft assigned to the 89th Airlift Wing that transport national and international leaders on a 24/7 basis.
- Manages an annual budget in the excess of $7M.
- Responsible for the training and certification of over 176 aircraft mechanics and electronic technicians supporting SAM and Transient Aircraft operations.
- Also responsible for ensuring that all required tools, support equipment, personal protective equipment, and technical guidance are available and used by assigned branch personnel.
- Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of this 176-person workforce that is divided into four sections to include the Flightline, Transient Maintenance, Inspection Dock, and Tool Room.
- Ensures that the Flightline maintenance/cosmetic quality is maintained at the highest level and the departure reliability rate is maintained at 99%.
- Ensures the Transient Maintenance operation is equipped to service and support the over 5,000 aircraft that fly in and out of Andrews AFB annually.
- Supports the Inspection Dock with qualified personnel and proper equipment to conduct in-depth inspections required to keep the Special Air Mission (SAM) Fleet at the highest fully mission capable rate possible.
- Ensures that the Tool Room is properly staffed and trained to perform effective aircrew debriefings, manage the HAZMAT program, and maintain Technical Data and supplies to support the Aircraft Branch mission. Reviews and analyzes quality assurance and statistical reports to identify trends and to initiate corrective actions.
- Enforces administrative and operational policies and procedures.
- Provides input to the Director of Maintenance to assure the success of the SAM mission and the Amentum contract.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ten (10) Years of experience in aircraft maintenance as an aircraft mechanic with three (3) years' experience supervising aircraft personnel.
- Must have a FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certificate.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
- Exceptional communication skills, leadership abilities, and personnel management skills.
- Capable of performing under extreme circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aviation related degree is preferred.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $130K to $138K. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for the new salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
