Are you ready to flex your aircraft inspection expertise into a Lead position? This is your opportunity! As an Aircraft Inspector V, you will provide expert oversight for all aircraft inspection activities, ensuring the highest levels of safety and compliance. You will act as a subject matter expert and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert oversight for all inspection activities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for complex compliance issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for inspection processes.
  • Ensure comprehensive and accurate documentation of all inspections.
  • Mentor and train all levels of inspectors.
  • Develop and maintain advanced inspection protocols.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Advanced experience with and knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of aviation products after maintenance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor and guide subordinates.
  • Thorough understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1.
  • Comprehensive understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation.
  • Prior experience with first article inspections and/or aircraft modifications.
  • Experience as an FAA Designee for Conformity Inspections.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Essential Functions:

  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, and climb ladders or stairs for extended periods.
  • Work in potentially hazardous environments.
  • Ability to travel may be required.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $40.14 - $55.19. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
